José María studied Educational Psychology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He holds a Diploma in Education from the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) and a diploma in Philosophy for Children from CECAPFI Mexico. He has participated in various training initiatives on philosophy with children in countries such as Peru, Argentina, Spain, and Brazil. He is the author and co-author of publications in the field of philosophy and childhood, including the books escuto.te: vozes e infâncias políticas (Letras Lavadas, 2025) and Comunidad de indagación: génesis, trayectos y perspectivas (Editorial UPTC, 2026). He currently works at Jean Le Boulch School (Lima, Peru), where he coordinates the project Filosofía (entre paréntesis): prácticas filosóficas infantiles. His research interests focus on philosophy of education, philosophy of childhood, and teacher education. He is also a co-founder of the collective Desde otra altura: educación filosófica infantil, an initiative aimed at promoting the practice of philosophy with children in Peru and developing philosophical training spaces for teachers in basic and higher education.
